Bogotá is Colombia’s capital city and its metropolitan area has a population of about 9,000,000 people. A unique economic phenomenon in the region is the daily increased growth of its real-estate activity. Furthermore, it is also a pioneer in the construction of shopping centers, and it posses a flourishing trade, evidenced by the number of retail outlets facilities existing in the city. Just in the year 2006 there were 3,552 commercial store fronts in Bogotá.
